Dysport

Dysport

Dysport is a brand name for an injectable form of botulinum toxin type A. Like Botox (another well-known brand), Dysport is primarily used for cosmetic purposes to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. The injections work by temporarily paralyzing or weakening the facial muscles that cause wrinkles, resulting in a smoother and more youthful appearance.

Dysport is injected superficially under the skin and does not typically hurt. Some clients have a higher threshold for tolerable pain.

An ideal candidate for Dysport is any client who is looking to treat fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet, 11’s TMJ, Platysmal bands, excess sweat, dimpled chin, tech neck and bunny lines.

Preventative Dysport is recommended for anyone 18 years or older, before any signs of wrinkles or collagen loss. For most people collagen begins to break down after 25 years old but this varies from person to person.

Dysport units are measured differently than Botox. The number of units used with Dysport is higher so ultimately the cost is very comparable to Botox.

Small pinprick bruising might appear around injection sites and should resolve quickly. Follow Dysport pre and post-care instructions for best results.

Dysport results last 3 to 4 months.

Dysport treatment should be done two weeks in advance to an event or vacation.
